there's a big debate about it, but I believe it's helpful, especially if you speak a tonal language where you are using very different muscles. It helps to stretch and open and do specific breathing exercises. You can learn more on my website: www.englishbythehour.com

I love your videos! Thanks so much! Im a broker in NYC and I’ve always wanted to reduce my Filipino accent as communicating clearly is part of my job. I was studying your videos and it helped me a lot! I’ve always wanted to have the accent of Filipino Americans who grew up here and your videos explained it well. Felt like i sound like them the more I practice. Hahaha! LOL But really thank you!

OMG, you are so gorgeous! ... ... And also right! Non-Native speakers tend to put too much effort into pronunciation thinking that "it's not the language I've been speaking whole my life so I need to try very hard to get it". And so they sound like non-native speakers who "try" to speak when native speakers of any language never put so much tension and effort in speaking... That's something nobody could teach!

Is it wrong or bad to have an indian accent? Just curious, i havent got any feedback from any person who is native English speaker. They happen to understand my speech and understand what i have meant while speaking.

My niece is smart. She picked up the American accent. I have no clue how she got it down. Maybe being in UAE made the difference. Definitely the Indian accent is a liability, for voice acing for cartoon characters. We need teachers like you in India, to train kids to speak English. The younger they get trained the better it will be for them.

I wouldn't feel too bad about it. Everyone is different, and some people just have an affinity for learning languages without an accent, but anyone can learn to do it if that's important to you. You can visit my website to learn more: www.englishbythehour.com

I've been in an English speaking country for 12 years but I still find my breathing when speaking English is not quite right. So I looked for your videos I watched a long time ago. It was helpful but I didn't practice enough. I was glad to find out that you had made more videos about breathing recently. I'm looking forward to more wonderful videos!
